Cefalu - 1940s Old European Cut Diamonds 14k Gold Platinum Cocktail Ring Retro

A striking example of 1940s Retro modernism, this diamond cocktail ring features an open shank design with an asymmetric, architectural platinum top set on a 14k gold band. A tall tapered panel centers a bezel-set old European cut diamond estimated at 0.92–1.02 carats, with baguette accents below, alongside a smaller open-work fan-form element centered on a second bezel-set old European cut diamond with single-cut stone accents throughout. Platinum-over-gold construction is a hallmark of American wartime jewelry making — and a genuine statement piece that wears as boldly as it looks.

Gemstones: Natural diamonds. Old European cut diamond measuring approximately 6.6–6.7 x 3.75mm, estimated 0.91–1.02ct by formula. Old European cut diamond approximately 4.2mm; depth unavailable due to mounting limitations (the 4.2mm diamond has a chip). Additional baguette-cut and circular-cut accent diamonds.

Metals: XRF tested 14k gold with platinum top (platinum tested 750)

Markings: Remnants of a hallmark & trademark, not legible.

Ring Size: 7

Total Weight: 7.5 grams

Measurements: 22.2mm wide north to south.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear and minor nicks to the bezels consistent with age. Mixed-metal construction features original, visible bonding lines and bleeding of the metals where the platinum top meets the 14k gold under-gallery. The inner shank shows a distinct historic sizing seam with a visible parting line/separation next to the old solder join. This area appears to be stable and solid for wear, but shows this cosmetic unevenness from past alteration as pictured. Visibly a beautiful, intact 1940s  piece that presents excellently on the hand.

Items Included: A new SOHOJEWELERS ring box.
