A fantastic estate emerald diamond enamel and 14k yellow gold poison ring. The large cabochon cut emerald is estimated at 11 carats and comes with a GIA Emerald Report. The emerald is set in a striking domed setting featuring rose cut diamonds and enamel accents. This ring has a secret compartment. The compartment is very well hidden, so well hidden in fact that we did not realize that this is a poison ring until we saw tiny hinges on on the the sides. The secret compartment cannot be easily opened or accessed, we had to use a tool to open it, cannot be opened by hand. Poison rings have a malicious name but even though they were used to carry poison in antiquity, in later days they had much nicer purpose of carrying loving mementos. This is a larger heavier cocktail dome ring measuring approximately 1 1/8 x 1 1/16 inch with height of approximately 1 inch and with a heavy total weight of 24 grams
