by Emile Vernier Rose Cut Diamonds 18k Yellow Gold Art Nouveau Brooch Pin c1890s

Description: You are looking at a striking diamond and 18k yellow gold brooch by Emile Seraphin Vernier (1852-1927).  This gorgeous brooch features a profile of a maiden featuring rose cut diamonds in her hair and around her neck all set in a wonderfully detailed 18k yellow gold setting.  It is unusually to see this level of workmanship and detail on a piece from that time, it is also quite difficult to find an Emile Vernier piece with diamonds.  Emile Seraphin Vernier was a famous French medalist, engraver, sculptor, esteemed expert on antique Egyptian jewelry and president of Societe des artistes decorateaurs.  We attribute this brooch to the very beginning of the Art Nouveau era likely late 1890s.  This is a great historic piece both as a striking piece of jewelry and a collectible.
